STEVE WYSMULLER

A respected leader in weather and climate resiliency for nearly 20 years, Steve Wysmuller currently serves as IBM’s global lead meteorologist for government, aviation, travel and transportation clients. He joined IBM in 2005 as a member of IBM’s Corporate Environmental Affairs department. He has since held several roles, including IBM’s Smarter Cities sales leader, Global Business Services team leader, and as a member of the Cognitive Solutions Team responsible for Sustainability & Emergency Management.

Most recently, Steve has been working closely with the DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory (INL) on a project to create a weather and traffic visualization platform. This project is helping INL increase the reliability, the resolution, and the communication of road and weather conditions along popular routes. Success at the INL means safer roads anywhere there is potential for hazardous weather.

Steve is very active in his local community and has held numerous board of director seats, including Board President. As evidence of his passion for local service, in 2016 he received the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award from President Barack Obama for 4,000 hours of volunteer service.

Steve received his M.S. in Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his dual B.S. in Meteorology and Environmental Science from North Carolina State University.
