KIRK SIEGLER

Kirk Siegler is a correspondent on NPR’s National Desk based in the network’s west coast bureau in Los Angeles. Siegler’s reporting focuses on the urban-rural divide in the country with a special emphasis on the rural West and tensions over public lands and the economic transition from natural resources to outdoor recreation and tech. His award winning reporting has taken him from a small timber mill town in Idaho to Cliven Bundy’s Nevada ranch where he landed a rare interview with the recalcitrant rancher after an armed standoff to Paradise, California, where Siegler has been reporting from – and even lived in for a stint – after the deadly Camp Fire in 2018. Siegler was born and raised in the West, growing up in Missoula, Montana and attending college at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
